Style United $500 Shopping Spree Giveaway at bottom of post

I could stay on this new site that's in Beta called StyleUnited all day after exploring it for hours this morning for another blog writing assignment. Instead, since I'm really enamored with my new virtual personal stylist already -- not to mention that the deadline is today to get this post published -- I'll share with you why this is so cool for fashionista wannabes like me. For sure I'm in need of a total makeover right now, since BlogHer 2012 is just about two months away and perhaps you might be too.
This Mom Blogger Needs a Total Makeover, Don't You Think?
Prior to touring this new site created by P&G, I didn't really know what to expect. I knew this was supposed to be about fashion and creating your own personal style, but little else. What I discovered and I think you will too is the world's first truly free and personalized virtual styling consultation site that covers how to look beautiful from head to toe no matter what your age, physical qualities, style preferences, and lifestyle are.

Now that I've set up my account and created my personal style file using this fab resource I'm going to encourage you to do the same. If you want to be inspired and look your best for occasions ranging from driving car pool to going out on the town with your significant other to those of you attending BlogHer '12 in New York City this August look no further than this one-stop site.

After you sign up for Style United you may as well dive right in like I did and get your styling recommendations. My overall initial reaction to the site is that it is interactive, intuitive and was easy to navigate around.

It took me a little over an hour to complete the four multiple choice quizzes to assess individualized needs in skin care (I have dry skin), hair care (my fave styles are loose curls), cosmetics (I gravitate toward bold makeup) and fashion (I'm a flirty romantic when it comes to clothes and accessories).  The little tests, BTW, range from only 4 to 9 questions each so don't worry, this is going to be a fun task that doesn't require much brain work for you to choose the "right" answers that best apply to you.

My Fave Things About this Site
  • Learned a bunch of new things about making the best out of my makeup and skin care and hair care regimens
  • The Tips & Trends content seemed perfect for me and I particularly liked the Best Styles for Fine Hair and How to Reinvent Fashion Classics posts as well as the short video Six Chic Ways to Tie a Scarf
  • Best of All: I fell in love with the curated fashion collection of clothing, shoes and accessories just for me that I was able to save in my style file so I can come back and shop for later once I figure out why the buy button doesn't allow me to get more details on the items I love as well as pricing (I'm guessing that void may be since I'm not using the current iOS)
  • Didn't have time to try it yet, but I love the idea of the site's free 1:1 Customized Style Online Video Consultation and look forward to doing that the next time I visit the site
Once I've decided what fashion, accessory and P&G products I want to buy, I'll try them and post pictures of the results here.

Meanwhile, what are you waiting for? Join Style United now. Start tapping into the Style 360 element of the site and take those quizzes that will help you discover your own personal style.
