Super Bowl Sunday Tuna Sliders Recipe Festive Alternative to Junk Food at this Year's Party

Super Bowl Sunday is traditionally an excuse to get together and watch the biggest football game of the year with friends. As we all know, it is also a time when high calorie, high salt junk food is especially abundant. Whether you're hosting the party for this year's big game between the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks or will be bringing food to a potluck -- Here's a mouth-watering fast and easy to make recipe that might make a delicious and much less fatty culinary hit at your celebration.

Tuna Tailgating Sliders 
Add a little spice and healthy food to your Super Bowl party

Prep Time:10 minutes
Cook Time:10 minutes
Servings: 6

Ingredients

2 pouches (2.6 oz) StarKist Chunk Light Tuna in Water, Low Sodium
¾ cup bread crumbs, divided
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese, reduced fat
1/2 cup fat free mayonnaise
2 T. finely chopped scallions
1/8 cup liquid egg substitute
2 T. chopped Chipotle Peppers packed in adobo sauce
2 t. canola oil
6 slider buns
Sliced avocado & tomato and chopped cilantro for garnish 

Directions
  • Combine tuna, 1/2 cup bread crumbs, cheese, mayonnaise, onion and egg substitute in medium bowl; mix well
  • Form into 6 patties (1/4 cup mixture/patty); place remaining 1/4 cup bread crumbs on a plate and coat each side of the patty with bread crumbs
  • Heat oil in non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook patties 3-5 minutes on each side until golden brown
  • Place tuna patty on slider bun, top with a slice of avocado and tomato and a little chopped cilantro
