Post 1 in a 3-Part Series

Who's old enough to remember the June 1984 debut of the original Ghostbusters movie, directed by Ivan Reitman and starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Sigourney Weaver? I know I'll never forget this big screen release which held the top spot at the box office every week that summer except for one. Fast forward to 2016.

Thirty two years later, the release of Ghostbusters (2016) this weekend -- with its all-star female comedy cast including Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones -- could not be more apropos with women breaking glass ceilings (and, of course, high rise building windows).

This is especially momentous, at a time when the expected nomination of the first-ever woman candidate to run for President of the United States is just days away.

The reboot of this pop culture fantasy science fiction film is expertly directed by Paul Feig who was a student studying at USC Film School when the original movie came out. However, it's easy to see how Reitman, now a producer and proud grandfather, continues to be passionate about the Ghostbusters enterprise and was very much involved and influential in Feig's interpretation and in the development and filming of the new version that audiences will see in theaters.

How exciting it was to meet the iconic Reitman first at the Fan Day press event at Sony Pictures in Culver City, California back in March to get a sneak peek at the movie trailer before it was released this spring.

And, then again, to have the privilege to interact with the great director and producer again, hear more about his passion for the project, ask questions and get a behind the scenes tour of Ghost Corps on the Sony Studios lot.

If you could ask Ivan Reitman one question about Ghostbusters what would it be?
