Rum Cocktails Celebrating 2018 in Style - Easy Drinks for Millennial Entertaining

Hosting a New Year's Day party or would just like some wonderful ideas for some new, beautiful and refreshing mixed cocktails to start the new year? Read on for several elegant but easy drinks to mix up for your guests not only on January 1st but whenever you host an event in your home.




Bumbu Rum is the secret ingredient in two delicious drinks I'd like to share with you: The D6 Cocktail (including pomegranate juice one of my personal fave sweet drink mixers) and The Freaky Tiki, a unique twist on the classic Mai Tai and one of the Top 10 searched cocktails on Google in 2017  (featuring Compari and bitters for a cocktail with more bite). 

Both these would be perfect to offer as rum based refreshments for just about any special ocassion to take entertaining to the next level with simple mixed drinks.




The D6 Cocktail

  • 60mL Bumbu rum
  • 30mL Pineapple juice
  • 30mL Pomegranate juice
  • Fresh Lime juice
  • Ginger ale
  • Pomegranate seeds (optional)


Combine all ingredients and shake, top with ginger ale. Garnish with pomegranate seeds if desired. Courtesy of Midnights in Brooklyn, NY


The Freaky Tiki

  • 60mL Bumbu rum
  • 30mL Pineapple juice
  • 15mL fresh Lime juice
  • 15mL Campari mixed 50/50 with Grenandine (Bittersweet)
  • 15mL Orgeat Almond syrup
  • 2 dashes of Angostura Bitters
  • Rosemary sprig garnish

Combine all ingredients and shake. Strain over fresh ice. Garnish with rosemary sprig. Courtesy of Liquid Lab, New York, NY
