Summer is a favorite time of year for me. Over the years I've enjoyed many July and August road trips criss crossing America both with my family when I was a child and now with my own family that includes hubbie plus two sons and two daughters.

The vintage and modern images illustrating this post capture just a small part of all the memories of the natural beauty I've personally experienced both inside National Parks and on the multitude of scenic byways and back roads that wind through the Lower 48 contiguous U.S. that I've traveled.

• Take The Pledge to exit the highway this summer and discover nature and the great outdoors and you will be entered to win the new car. 
• Download one of the Exit the Highway itineraries in your area to learn about the ways TogetherGreen is working on local conservation projects to protect and in some cases rebuild many types of animal habitats and wildlife populations. 
• Share your nature visit experiences on the road and what you observe by uploading photos to your the Exit the Highway page you set up when you took The Pledge. You're also encouraged to share your images via Twitter, Facebook and/or Instagram. All uploaded photos should use the #ExitTheHighway hashtag and each counts as another entry for a chance to win the Prius v.
