While fall leaves are going into their annual peak color display on the chilly East Coast, in Southern California summer continues to linger. Weather is never 100% predictable, even here where it hardly ever rains, but there's a good chance the balmy Indian Summer we're having will continue. Anticipating more warm and sunny days ahead, the region is gearing up for the annual family-friendly Strictly Sail Long Beach Boat Show event scheduled for October 24-27, 2013 at Rainbow Harbor in Long Beach, California.

This four-day event, which is open to the public, celebrates the coastal community's sailing culture and its outdoor lifestyle. Among the many sights, there will be dozens of sailboats, catamarans, stand up paddleboards, kayaks, and aquatic accessories in motion out over this harbor's waters that spills into the Pacific Ocean. There will also be lots of fun stuff to do with kids.

Sponsored by Progressive Insurance, this is essentially a boat show presented California extraordinaire style for both seasoned and newbie sailors.
