Southern California Families Can Take a FREE Trip to Hawaii This Saturday, February 27

Kids and their parents can take a free "fantasy trip" to Hawaii this Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium in San Pedro, California from 10:30 to 3 p.m.

My own family has been to this free educational aquarium many times over the years to visit the regular exhibits and to participate in special events such as the Sea Fair.  Here's a picture of MommyBlogExpert's children at that even, which an annual Cabrillo Marine Aquarium Event they hold in the Fall.  That's a real bald eagle behind the kids in the photo below, BTW, and each of my children is wearing his or her handmade whale tail hat crafted at that event.

Located less than an hour from central Los Angeles, this interpretive center which is always free and open year-round is built on a seaside lagoon not far from Long Beach.  In addition to an awarding library filled with marine and ocean themed books and a gift shop with ocean souvenirs that are actually not expensive, the center has beautiful tank displays of colorful fish and live sea creatures of many types as well as a touch tide pool where visitors can even feel, touch, and learn about marine life such as sea urchins and sea stars.

The special Hawaii Event this Saturday features
  • Free Admission
  • Entertainment by Daniel Ho, Grammy-winning Musical Performer
  • Hula Dancing
  • 600 Traditional Leis Flown in Fresh from Hawaii to be given away
