MoonWalk NYC Cancer Event Fundraiser Presented by Empire BlueCross BlueShield 7/20

If you haven't heard already there's something very exciting going on this summer on the East Coast: MoonWalk NYC which takes place July 20, 2013 starting at 10 pm in New York City. Supported by Empire BlueCross BlueShield this year, the annual event always gets a huge amount of publicity not only because of the unique approach to the walk itself and the resulting broader awareness of a very good cause but because since the first walk in London 15 years ago, this fundraiser has generated $126 million dollars in badly needed funds to fuel breast cancer research to help Find a Cure.

Most of the funds raised by walkers this year will go to Sloan-Kettering Institute. This will directly support a Breast Cancer Examination Center in Harlem where 80% of the patients are uninsured, many living at or below the poverty level. What's particularly noteworthy is that this is one of the very first free BC screening facilities for women here in the U.S.

Those of you in the Tri-State area please consider signing up to participate in this fun, meaningful and most worthy walk, either the half moon which is 13.1 miles or the full moon that goes the entire 26.2 miles of this walk's route.

Empire State Building in NYC at Night,
Either way walking participants will be strolling past many of New York's most iconic landmarks beginning with an opening ceremony at Randall's Island and then meandering through the streets of New York and the lit up high rise buildings of Manhattan at night. I can't imagine a better way to enjoy the City that never sleeps than that while also doing something really good that will save many precious lives.

Watch video to learn all about this exciting & worthwhile event where both men and women will walk in solidarity to raise money for Breast Cancer research...

Even those of you not located near the MoonWalk NYC venue are encouraged to show your support by sponsoring a friend or relative who is walking or by making a tax deductible donation to support this year's event.
