It's well into October, with pumpkin patch stands opening up throughout U.S. cities and towns, meaning it's time to start thinking seriously about Halloween celebrations. If you are like a lot of moms right now, you are probably dreading the large amounts of candy kids will get when they Trick or Treat or when they go to home and school parties this season. You can breathe a sigh of relief because there are some healthy mashup options. Moms just have to get a little creative with what you serve your children with easy-to-make and cute food and drink recipes like the ones in this post.

Here's some really great drink recipe ideas worthy of MommyBlogExpert's Halloween Fun Stuff Pinterest Board to make something for your child to eat that is actually healthy, sweet and fun. Most important of all they're made with holiday edition TruMoo naturally-flavored low fat chocolate and vanilla milks, the latter in orange for fall, making them both easy for you and in the Halloween spirit for your family.

Monster Mash Mudslide Recipe

4 cups TruMoo Lowfat Chocolate Milk
10 chocolate wafer cookies, coarsely broken
½ cup frozen non-dairy whipped topping, thawed
8 mini chocolate chips or mini chocolate candies (orange/brown flavor suggested)

In blender, combine TruMoo Lowfat Chocolate Milk and chocolate wafer cookies until smooth. Heat mixture in saucepan or microwave until just heated through.*

To serve, pour chocolate milk mixture into 4 glasses. For each serving, spoon a large, upright dollop of whipped topping to resemble a ghost. Insert chocolate chips or chocolate candies into the dollop for eyes.

Spooky Smoothie Recipe

3 cups Limited Edition TruMoo Lowfat Vanilla Milk (orange color)
1 ½ cups lowfat vanilla Greek yogurt
5 cups ice cubes
¼ cup fat-free whipped cream
Candy corn for garnish, optional

In blender combine TruMoo, yogurt and ice cubes. Blend on high speed until smooth and creamy.

To serve, pour into serving glasses. Top with fat free whipped cream and candy corn.

These recipes look so good, don't they? Not only might you want to make either or both of these, if you are active on Pinterest like I am, these images are most definitely Pin worthy. I've already pinned these Halloween treat images to MommyBlogExpert's Halloween Fun Stuff Pinterest Board and encourage you to feel free to repin these to your own boards, too.

TruMoo milks are available year-round at markets, chain stores like CVS and big box stores such as Target. For Halloween, these same retailers are carrying TruMoo's limited edition TruMoo Lowfat Chocolate Milk and TruMoo Lowfat Vanilla Milk in orange.
