I can't seem to say it often enough: smartphones are indispensible in juggling our busy family and work lives. The problem is these communication gadgets can also be a challenge to actually use unless one's hands are both free. I know for one, as a mother of four kids born in a year, my hands were rarely idle. As I remember, I almost never was able to pull out my cell phone and use it easily when the kids were little. In fact, back when I was learning the ropes of parenting, I routinely dropped my phone fumbling for it and was lucky it never shattered.

Recently, in my role as a member of the Verizon Wireless Lifestyle Blogger team, I discovered the well-designed LG G2 that can potentially better everyday struggles for haggard mothers like me.

Granted my toddlers have all grown into teenagers. Still, I think this new smartphone -- with all its button controls strategically located on the back -- is a real gem of a find for us moms with kids of every age who are forever multi-tasking, trying to do it all without missing a beat.

There are lots of things I like about this Android Jelly Bean smartphone that runs on the Verizon 4G LTE Network. But, by far, my favorite hardware feature of the LG G2 is the handy location of all those often-needed buttons.

This unique detail makes it a great phone for grabbing with one hand. Whether turning it off/on, adjusting the volume or  controling the speaker, for the first time it's possible to do any of those functions single handedly with ease.

Simply stated, that little ergonomically-placed button position on the back is pure genius. What a perfect mobile device for snapping selfie and family pictures one-handed on the go. It's a lifesaver, too, when carrying your kids' stuff in one hand while making an important phone call with the other hand.

Whoever came up with that brilliant button location must have kids, I'm guessing.

The LG G2 is available from Verizon Wireless in-store and online right now for just $49.99 with a 2-year contract. Other purchase options include $18.97/month on the Verizon Edge Plan or $449.99 for month-to-month. You can buy the phone alone or add an optional accessory bundle for additional savings.
