Free Family Friendly Memorial Day Weekend Activity

Things are definitely heating up temperature and culture wise on the East Coast this coming week. That's because New York area families are in for a real holiday weekend treat -- the 19th Annual LES Festival of the Arts.

LES isn't French in this case. It's the All Amercian acronym for Lower East Side. And where does this fun and eclectic arts fest take place over Memorial Day Weekend May 23-25, 2014? You guessed it -- the Lower East Side of New York City. Featured family friendly entertainment represents a true melting pot of cultural art, music and dance as you can see from the images throughout this post.

The weekend event, brought to the public by Theater for the New City, also features a special youth program on Saturday, May 24. Activities will include circus acts, music, arts and crafts, a petting zoo, and other fun for children and their families.

Admission to all activities and performances are free to the public. Both young and old looking for something fun to do over the holiday weekend, will likely find more than a few things to enjoy here. If you're lucky enough to be in the New York area next weekend
