Nescafe Dolce Gusto Genio Coffee Review

As faithful readers may know from previous posts, I'm a huge coffee lover and in fact depend on my cup of java every morning to start the day. I literally cannot function without my coffee because it's such an essential part of my daily routine.

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Mom Central for NESCAFÉ Dolce Gusto, and received a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

As an Amazon Affiliate, Mommy Blog Expert may earn a small bit of compensation when you make a purchase, at no extra cost to you.

So when I was offered the opportunity to review the Nescafe Dolce Gusto Genio Espresso Cappuccino Latte Machine which I first saw demonstrated at the annual BlogHer Conference, it took me about five seconds to accept the challenge.

I love the look of this small kitchen appliance which is tall and sleek, measuring 12" high by just 6" wide so it doesn't take up much counter space. The black, gray and chrome styling blends well into your countertop, too, whether you have a traditional or modern kitchen or a retro layout like I have.

As you can see from watching the short video I made showing the straight-forward process of making a gourmet Dolce Gusto Cappuccino Ice, this coffee maker is so simple and convenient to use. If you ask me, it sure beats the out-of-pocket expense and time involved standing in line at your local upscale coffee shop!

Priced at just $129.99 for the coffee system and drink capsules costing less than $10 per box, this machine can potentially pay for itself in just a few months.

Turn Your Own Kitchen into a Fine Coffeehouse

To use, simply push one button or two, depending on the drink you're making. In less than one minute you'll be savoring your made-to-order choice of 19 different fail-proof coffeehouse specialty drinks from regular and decaf coffees, espresso, latte macchiato, cappuccino, mocha and chococino to chai tea latte, ice cappuccino and Nestea Peach Flavored Iced Tea. There's even a Skinny Cappuccino option for those of us watching our calories. How sweet is that?

With simplicity, variety and quality like this, likely not only your family will be impressed. If you make coffee for your friends with this machine, don't be surprised if they come back for seconds as well as start stopping by theis nouveau neighborhood coffeehouse of yours regularly.

With the holidays on their way, this would be a wonderful small appliance to have in service if you are hosting loved ones for parties, meals and other get togethers. Come to think of it, this is such a breeze to use it might be fun to stock up on a variety of Nescafe Dolce Gusto drink capsules and invite your guests to try their hand at being barristas for a day to make their own custom designed drinks. Going to someone else's home or a potluck for a festive celebration this year? No problem... the Nescafe Dolce Gusto Genio is so compact you can pack it up and bring it with you to plug it in at your host's.

Perfect Cappuccino,

Craft Quality
Each of the Nescafe Dolce Gusto flavor options starts with the highest quality ingredients including specially-selected coffee beans and chocolate. Coffee is sourced from Nescafe Farms premium coffee beans, then roasted and finely ground and precisely pressed into capsules using the same technique as a professional barrista. The same amount of care goes into the creamy drinks which are made with pure all-natural, hormone- and preservative-free milk. Freshness is sealed into every capsule for a shelf life up to one year. With all that precision, the end result is that your coffee will taste great and be fail-proof every time.

The Nescafe Dolce Gusto Genio differs from competitors in that it features a 15 bar pressure system much like the ones used in better coffee shops by professionals. This advanced technology ensures that the proper pressure is expended, allowing for even distribution of the water over the beans for optimal taste. Similarly, that sophisticated pressure produce the perfect creamy finish for cappucinos and other frothy hot and cold libations.

But don't let all that wizardry throw you. This is one user-friendly machine -- the custom scroll wheel and flow stop functions make it possible for you to adjust the settings for the size and strength of each drink you make for perfect results every time. Best of all, this coffee maker shuts off automatically after 20 minutes, so you won't have to worry about leaving it on when you rush out of the house to take the kids to school in the morning.

Smart Capsule Design
Nescafe Dolce Gusto's patented capsule technology also results in coffeehouse perfection cup after cup. Another nice thing I like about these capsules is that they never come into direct contact with the machine so it doesn't need to be cleaned after every drink. This drastically cuts down on my clean-up time between making a Vanilla Latte Macchiato for me and Chococino hot chocolates for the kids. Now what's not to love about that if you're a busy on-to-go mom?
