Pennsylvania 16 year-old high school student Jess Araten, who plays guitar, is ecstatic. That's because she just got the call that the GRAMMY Foundation will be flying her to Los Angeles next week where she will perform at Club Nokia on February 4th at “GRAMMY in the Schools Live!” featuring five time GRAMMY award nominee Hunter Hayes.

Jess is beyond thrilled to have been invited to participate in this prestigious GRAMMY Week Event as part of the GRAMMY Camp Alumni Band.

In fact, when Jess received the call notifying her that she had been selected, the up and coming musician said, “This is insane! I’m trying not to freak out…but I’m freaking out!”

Club Nokia, seating 2300, will be Jess's largest ever venue. Also on hand for this major celebration will be more than 400 students from the greater Los Angeles area -- including 375 from L.A. Unified School District. Also performing will be the elite GRAMMY Camp Jazz Band.

At such a young age Jess already has a musical resume that many adults will envy. Las summer, the GRAMMY Foundation invited Jess as one of a handful of young guitarists nationwide to participate in its selection GRAMMY Camp. She has toured with the School of Rock National All Stars (one of 125 standout All-stars out of 14000 School of Rock students). She also recently opened for Norah Jone's new band, played lead guitar at Interlochen's Summer Rock Program, and currently tours throughout the Philadelphia area with her own band, The Third Rail.
