As readers know, this blog is an advocate of Breast Cancer Awareness month which takes place every October. And early breast cancer detection saves lives. So, I wanted to get a head start sharing with you about a worthwhile campaign intended to build broader public awareness and support. Introducing Pink Plate, one of the newest license plates California drivers can purchase, which aims to educate and promote the cause as well as raise badly needed funds for Breast Cancer education, especially here in the Golden State.
The California Pink Plate Campaign was created by five amazing and courageous women who are all California breast cancer survivors ranging in age from 25-57 including Chere Rush, Heather McCullough, Deborah Bordeau, Carla Kimball, and Heather Solari. To get this campaign moving forward and making a difference they need to generate at least 7500 pre-orders of the new Pink Plate.
All funds generated from sales of the California Pink Ribbon License Plate will be deposited into the Breast Cancer Control Account, which funds the Every Woman Counts (EWC) program. EWC is administered by the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and provides free clinical breast exams and mammograms to California’s underserved women.
