Crafts

Easy Thanksgiving Kids Craft

Thanksgiving is such a wonderful time of year. Not only is it celebrated widely with many different traditions here in the USA -- regardless of religion and a variety of backgrounds -- it's a meaningful time to gather with friends and family. It's also the perfect time to ramp up your creativity with some beautiful crafts for the holidays.

To get you in the spirit of this fall holiday and remind us all of its historical roots, here's a creative and easy Mayflower Gratitude Boat DIY Thanksgiving craft project originally from Family Fun Magazine, which is unfortunately is no longer published.  Both kids and adults will enjoy making this to decorate your home or to bring as a centerpiece to your Thanksgiving dinner hosts.

What You'll Need
This craft involves just a handful of simple materials which you likely already have at home including a template from familyfunmag.com/printables, a brown paper bag, tape, crayons, paper, bamboo skewer, playdough, paper shred and parchment paper.

Step-by-Step Instructions
After you print and cut out the templates, color and assemble your ship. When you're done, don't forget to take photos of the finished heirloom you've made for the family archives. Then, when kids and adults gather on Thanksgiving Day invite everyone to write the things they are grateful for on the pieces of paper you've cut up and load them up on the ship.
