Maple Sugar Candy Recipe Laura Ingalls

Good Food

Inspired by Laura Ingalls Wilder's Life on the Frontier

I grew up loving the Little House on the Prairie book series and so have my own daughters. There's a reason why the stories of Laura Ingalls Wilder still continue to be just as popular with the next generation and the magic endures today.

Maple Syrup Candy Recipe

We all still yearn for the simple things in life that give us the most joy, experiences like making old-fashioned foods such as Maple Sugar Candy at home. This is a wonderful project for you and your children to mix up together in your kitchen. It only requires a single ingredient: real maple syrup and, best of all, kids will enjoy eating this special sweet treat.

Watch the video to see how easy it is to make this sweet treat without having to go out and tap the maple tree for syrup like Laura used to do. Then get the recipe on the official website of Little House on the Prairie.

Here's your chance to recreate this fun candy with or for your kids just like Laura or Ma might have made back in pioneer days as their family pushed forward, first settling in Minnesota and then moving on to South Dakota.
