Monday, January 16 is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in the U.S. This day -- which always occurs on a Monday as a legal holiday -- marks the anniversary of this great civil rights leader's birth on January 15, 1929. Like many other Baby Boomers, I remember King's marches, learning about racial equality in elementary school, and his gravely unfortunate murder in 1968. To keep his memory alive for the generations born since his passing it is important to educate children about who King was and how he impacted the course of history in America.
