Corporate Responsibility
When I was a little girl my mom and dad routinely took us kids on
family road trips to appreciate all the beauty in nature. Thanks to my parents' love of the outdoors and living things and especially of
National Parks, I grew up with a particularly strong sensitivity toward preserving the environment for future generations to enjoy. It's a passion I hope to be successful passing on to my children who will then be inspired to continue the tradition with their own kids one day.

Toyota is one consumer company steward of the environment that I really admire. A clear front runner in social responsibility in the corporate community -- both on national and local scales -- on eco awareness initiatives such as their involvement with
Wyland Water Foundation. As in years past, the company is indeed going full-force this weekend with a variety of activities and sponsorships to celebrate, educate and bring about more awareness to
Earth Day.
Another project they're currently involved -- with activities planned for Earth Day 2012 weekend -- with that I'd like to share with readers -- this one since 2008 -- is
TogetherGreen, which is a partnership between the car maker and the National Audubon Society that has been fueled by a $20 million grant from Toyota.
The multi-year TogetherGreen project has three goals
- To provide innovation grants for conservation and environmental causes
- To train future environmental leaders
- To organize and implement volunteer and community service opportunities that have a positive ecological impact
