Your Child Naughty or Nice This Year? Enter Contest to Win $5000 Holiday Shopping Spree

Holiday Contests

Everyone who celebrates Christmas knows that Santa always visits the kids that have been good -- rather than naughty -- all year. So YoYo, Afterschool and Bookworm, a group of family-friendly sites from the folks at Diapers, are celebrating America's children with the best behaviors by hosting the ultimate The Goodest Kid Contest ever.

The Prizes
The Grand Prize winner gets a $5,000 Ultimate Holiday Shopping spree across all three sites to choose lots of toys, sports gear and books. Ten runners up each will win a $100 gift card to shop at those same online stores.

Here's just the tip of the iceberg of wonderful products shoppers have to choose from this holiday season

How to Enter
Visit thegoodestkid.com and submit a short video of your child bragging about their abundant good deeds, along with your kid's top gift pick from each site, creating a sharable wish list to help friends and family shop for the perfect gift.

Each entry will be judged on three things: creativity, goodness of child's deeds and enthusiasm. Hurry and get started working on your child's presentation now because the deadline for video submissions is December 16th. Winners will be chosen on or around December 17 so the winning kids will be able to go shopping before Christmas.

30% Holiday Discount for All

Holiday Gift Christmas Duck With Antlers Kids Toy Helps Fight Pediatric Cancer

Toys

Aflac once again is giving back to the community for the holidays and is inviting the public to join in. This time they've partnered with cause marketing conscious Macy’s for the perfect gift this Christmas season: a cute limited edition plush Aflac Holiday Duck that comes complete with antlers, earmuffs and a cozy red scarf. Available in 6" and 10" sizes, the cuddly soft plush stuffed animal toy even talks, quacking "Aflac" when you squeeze it. Making this even more meaningful, this year's special do-good duck was designed by 16 year-old leukemia patient Monica Sandoval of Winder, Georgia.

The best part of all is that when you buy these you're not only giving a child or kid-at-heart adult a novel holiday present or stocking stuffer that they'll never forget. Come to think of it you might want to get an extra one of these adorable ducks for yourself. Pediatric cancer treatment and research also benefits because proceeds go toward both treatment and research at the participating children's cancer facility closest to where each duck is purchased.

The Aflac Holiday Duck retails for just $10 for the 6-inch duck and $15 for the 10-inch version. These are available at more than 600 participating Macy’s stores across the U.S. and online at AflacHolidayDuck.com -- but remember they are a limited edition and this is the only year they will be available. All net proceeds go to fighting kids cancer. Since 2001 the sales of the Aflac Holiday Duck each year have raised more than three million dollars.

Barbie The Princess Pop Star Movie Review

Movies

Weekends in December -- both Saturdays and Sundays -- Kidtoon Films family matinees presents the movie Barbie The Princess and The Pop Star on the big screen at select local Kidtoons theaters nationwide.

MBE partnered with Kidtoon Films for this post

In this musical animated girls fantasy film overflowing with songs, dance, fun and -- of course -- fab fashions -- Barbie takes on the role of Tori, princess of Meribella. She's a kindly princess who loves to sing and dance but isn't particularly into her royal duties.

Then one day her pop star idol Keria pops in to the kingdom and the two girls discover they are similar in so many ways. This includes possessing a magical secret gift that gives them the ability to look identical. But changing places, they realize soon enough, isn't all it's cracked up to be.

What happens next is a story of friendship and working together when things go awry. A charming feature that I think moms and their young daughters particularly will enjoy together.

A sneak peek at this month's feature film ...

For more than two years Mommy Blog Expert has hosted Kidtoons family friendly monthly movie giveaways. So I was really sad to learn that this is the last month that Kidtoons will no longer be offering their unique screenings program for children in select theaters across the U.S. Stay tuned on MBE for news -- as soon as it breaks -- about a total remix that will result in a new children's entertainment program replacing Kidtoons in late 2013 or early 2014.

Walk down memory lane with me and take a look at all the wonderful past Kidtoons movie reviews and giveaways on MBE including: Spookley Square Pumpkin, Care Bears: Share Bear Shines, Curious George: A Very Monkey Christmas, Barbie A Fairy Secret, Little Engine That Could,  Strawberry Shortcake: Sky's the Limit, Olivia and the Great Outdoors, Thomas & Friends: Hero of the Rails, Babar and the Adventures of Badou: Swing Into Summer, Candy Land The Great Lollipop Adventure, Sid the Science Kid, Spookley Square Pumpkin 2011, Thomas & Friends Day of Diesels, Olivia Wintertime Cheer, Dino Dan, Barbie in a Mermaid Tale 2, The Gruffalo, Sid the Science Kid Backyard Camp Out, The Wiggles Big Birthday, The Gruffalo's Child, Chuggington Traintastic, and Welcome to LazyTown.

Each Kidtoons giveaway is unique based on the monthly movie offering. But, they've always been family friendly and wholesome for children, so don't miss out on entering the current giveaway and seeing the film in theaters during December.
