Lost in Suburbia Author L.A. Launch Event Tonight With Wine & Cheese At Diesel Bookstore

Books

Diesel, A Bookstore in Brentwood, invites you to join author Tracy Beckerman, now on a national book tour, for a Wine and Cheese meet and greet tonight at 7 p.m. The event celebrates Tracy's brand new book, Lost in Suburbia: A Momoir: How I Got Pregnant, Lost Myself, and Got My Cool Back in the New Jersey Suburbs

This is her only L.A. stop so you definitely want to try and get a responsible sitter, then sneak out of the house and take a break from your kids this evening to join the fun. Shush: Don't worry I won't tell anyone that you are actually having a girls night out and doing something just for yourself for a change. After all it's just between us moms, right?

About the Book
It's a suburban jungle out there! When syndicated columnist Tracy Beckerman trades in her TV job and cool NYC existence for the New Jersey suburbs, she doesn't expect to also trade in her entire identity. However, her new life as a stay-at-home mom knocks her for a loop in more ways than one. From the embarrassment of being ticketed while driving in her bathrobe to the challenge of making friends in the land of big hair and minivans, Beckerman shares her struggles with self-deprecating humor as she endeavors to reclaim her cool. At once irreverent, hilarious, and keenly observed, Lost in Suburbia is about what you give up to become a mother--and what you get back.

Don't miss the chance to meet Tracy, funniest mom ever tonight!
I've already read this new title and if you are a mom you really should read Lost in Suburbia, too, because mommy-ing is hard and we all need a little comical diversion now and then. Besides, you'll not only be saying "me too" and chuckling along with Tracy when you read it, you'll be laughing at your own family situation as well.

Rod Stewart First Twitter Chat Ever - Music Legend Tweets Answers to Fans Questions

Music

I couldn't be on more of a high than I am today. Yesterday I had the opportunity to get an advance copy and review this rock and rock legend's new album Time. Then today, to top it all off, Rod Stewart Tweeted me responding to my question personally during the first hour-long Twitter Chat he has ever hosted.

Hopefully I'll be doing a followup in depth interview with Rod soon, so I can share with you what I find out when he elaborates more about his children's influence on his work. This should be really interesting since he has eight kids ranging from age 50 (his oldest daughter) to his toddler son, Aiden Patrick Stewart, who just turned two years old in February.
