Evil intrigue is at play  in Descendants 3, the latest in this popular Disney Channel movie series now available on DVD. It is a musical, dance filled adventure led by the children of well-known Disney villains like Maleficent, the evil fairy in Sleeping Beauty who cast a spell on all the people in the land and Captain Hook, the pirate captain in Peter Pan. 

The Plot & Characters

In the first movie of this series audience members are introduced to a set of devilishly lovable characters, all of whom are the children of famous villains. Mal (Dove Cameron), the daughter of Maleficent, is the leader of this vibrant posse. Her three loyal friends are Carlos (Cameron Boyce, who sadly passed away suddenly last month), son of Cruella De Vil, Evie (Sofia Carson), daughter of the Evil Queen in Snow White and Jay (Booboo Stewart), son of Jafar. 


Each subsequent Descendants film furthers the story spun in previous picture. The third installment in this evil magical journey introduces us to Hades (Cheyenne Jackson), the god of the Underworld, who threatens to break through the barrier surrounding the Isle of the Lost, home to all villains. 

Follow beloved old characters and mischievous new ones in this thrilling third installment as they embark on a mission to recruit new villainous children from the Isle of the Lost to bring them to Auradon Prep, the school for the children of heroes. 

When Auradon is threatened by a new and unexpected villain, Mal and the rest of the gang fight to protect their beloved home. Join this courageous team on their harrowing journey as they battle cunning enemies, but will they be able to protect the land of heroes they have come to call home?

Hey, parents? Don't worry, although this movie is loads of fun, there is also a strong moral kids can learn from it. Interwoven into all the fun songs and perilous chases is the beautiful message of learning to put aside our differences to help one another. When children see the Villainous Kids ("VK")  learning to do this amidst all their wild adventures, they too will learn to recognize that what makes them unique is a strength they can use to help others.

Digital & DVD Launch Celebrates 25th Anniversary

This year marks the silver anniversary of the release of the original animated classic The Swan Princess (1994) kids movie. To celebrate 25 years since this enchanting children's adventure film series began, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment released The Swan Princess: Kingdom of Music on Digital and DVD today. Additionally, Sony is set to release the 25th Anniversary remastered collector's edition of The Swan Princess on Blu-ray and in 4K HDR on Digital on October 29.

The Swan Princess: Kingdom of Music is the ninth film in the movie's series. The newest picture paves the way for another generation of little ones and families to enjoy a beautiful and heartwarming all-new story inspired by the classic fairytale Swan Lake. 

In this latest feature-length picture, the familiar princesses kids love are back. This time Princess Odette is the hostess of a music competition to celebrate Princess Alise's birthday with the winner getting the chance to sing at her birthday bash. 

But some unexpected events occur and now it's looking like the singing contest will have to be canceled. You'll have to see the movie to see what happens next. In addition to the movie itself, extra features on the new DVD include fun interactive sing-alongs of two new tunes from the film which will have the whole family singing, tapping their feet and maybe even dancing to the royal beat.
