In the past week, as the pounds start to come off, I've started gaining more energy to do the things I love -- like hiking with my family and cycling more on a bike path near the beach.

At the same time, without feeling hungry as I exercise more, I'm continuing to lose weight with this easy to stick with diet which even offers a weekly cheat day if you do some moderate exercise regularly like I do. Even if you're not very active, don't worry: The good news is this diet still allows you one cheat meal every week.

Q&A with Joel Marion, author of Always Eat After 7 PM

In the second part of this MBE series you'll be hearing from the book's author. This will help readers better understand how the diet Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts and Indulgent Snacks -- While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion works and why you should consider giving it a try. So, without further adieu, Joel Marion answers some of the most burning questions I (and you) might be wondering about.

Always Eat After 7 PM Author Joel Marion

Q 1: Where does the inspiration from this book come from and why did you write it?

"After writing six books," says Marion, "I came to the realization that there are two big myths about dieting that I felt needed to be exposed. The first concept is that it's a bad idea to eat late at night or before going to sleep. Science now shows this simply isn't true. The second misconception is that if you're trying to diet, you can't eat large portions of foods which feel filling and satisfying. Again, that's been proven wrong. This book, backed by hundreds of sources listed in the reference section, solves both these challenges by providing an easy, enjoyable and doable dieting approach that can be used by a variety of individuals to achieve just about any weight loss goals they desire."

Q2: What is different about this book from the other related titles you have written on similar topics?

"Many of the other books I've authored do share some common ground," explains Marion. "However the biggest standout difference in my newest book is that now you don't have feel deprived of the foods you love. What's more is you have don't have burden yourself with eating every few hours nor do you have to feel hunger pangs between meals. Best of all you don't have to skip the carbs at dinnertime or avoid eating before you go to sleep at night."

Eating Before Sleep

Marion points out, "Late-night eating also curbs calorie intake the next day. In a four-week study, dieters added a snack to their regimen 90 minutes after dinner every night. And, check this out: late-night eaters ate an average of 397 fewer calories per day."

In conclusion, not all diets are about self deprivation, of avoiding all kinds of carbohydrates and having to eat only boring, low calorie meals that leave you feeling hungry and unsatisfied.

Now I know I can have a guilt-free late-night snack and not feel like I'll pay for it the next day. As long as my bedtime mini meal is a fat-burning, healthy nosh such as a protein shake or several hard boiled eggs suggested by this diet to get me through the 16-hour intermittent fast each night, I'll likely be burning fat while I sleep.

More Posts Coming in the Weeks Ahead

Next time, I'll give you an update on my personal weight loss journey. In my Week #3 post, you'll read about what I've learnt from this diet book about goal setting and how it might help you be successful, too. Be sure to stay tuned because I'll also be sharing some of the delicious easy-to-prepare dishes I've made at home based on the recipes included in Always Eat After 7 PM.
