Healthy Halloween Spider Recipe popchips Snack or Kids Party Treat #snacksmall

Good Food

Halloween is tomorrow and Moms and Dads who care about their children are freaking out. What's the big thing that's scaring the living daylights out of parents everywhere this year? No it's not ghosts, vampires, zombies and witches. It's the angst brought on by thoughts of the huge amounts of candy and junk food kids will be getting while trick or treating or eating at parties on October 31st.

Not to worry. There's no need to panic because there are healthy alternatives that youngsters will love this Halloween, like popchips which was chosen the favorite snack by a panel of children in real simple magazine. Boys and girls love 'em, but parents do too. Not only do they taste delicious and crunchy, unlike traditional fried potato chips meets many of the strict nutritional standards being enforced in a growing number of U.S. schools throughout the country.

Recipe

The Spider Bite Popwich

What’s better than snacking on plain, savory popchips? Enjoying them disguised as these easy-to-make, fun to eat spooky spiders. These are so simple and quick to make you might want to whip some up either as a snack before the kids head out to trick-or-treat or to serve at your Halloween party. Just assemble the ingredients or make them together with your child and watch them disappear. How scary is that?

For each treat use
  • 2 sea salt popchips
  • Creamy nut butter
  • Licorice
  • Googly candy eyes
popchips are available at Target, Whole Foods and grocery stores nationwide.  To find a store by you, visit the popchips product locator. You can also stay up to date on all things popchips by following the brand on Twitter, Facebook, PinterestInstagram and YouTube.

Aflac Heisman Sports Safety Tips & Ultimate Football Experiences Giveaway #AflacSweeps

Sports

Win a Trip for 2 to a College Football Game - Entry Details Below

Injuries can and do happen in football, soccer and other sports, even in no-contact sports like flag football. Believe me I know because I learned this lesson from personal experience with my daughters who have played soccer and flag football all through high school.

MommyBlogExpert.com
Luckily the accidents they and their team mates have endured during their team practice sessions and games with other schools -- including skinned knees and a sprained ankle -- have been relatively minor. Thinking back, these injuries could have been more frequent and a whole lot worse if they were not wearing the proper protective gear and playing the game accordingly to the rules.

Now that the school year is in full swing with football, soccer, flag football and other fall sports competitions, the topic of safety couldn't be more timely. To help protect our kids of all ages, whether they play on a team or just for fun, from sports injuries and minimizing the chances of a visit to the Emergency Room this season, Aflac offers valuable sports safety tips worth considering and sharing with your own children and friends. These apply to football but no matter what athletic extra curricular activities your child participates these basic guidelines can potentially also benefit you.

Wear the Proper Gear
Even equipment that appears to be optional should always be worn. That means suiting up in all the proper regulation pads and safety gear before every practice or game and immediately alerting your coach if you show up without any of the required equipment.

Follow the Rules
Inarguably, being an unstoppable powerhouse on the football field is central to the game culture. But, even when the adrenalin starts coursing through your body you must remember to always follow the rules. There's a reason all those things like tripping, clipping, blocking below the knees and helmet-to-helmet combat are not permitted in football: they can inflict serious injuries on you and/or others.

Listen to Your Body
Whenever you play stay in constant contact with how you're feeling mentally and physically. The second something just doesn't feel right and you I feel either discomfort or pain, alert your coach. Taking a break on the bench may be humbling but if you choose the alternative and keep playing your injury is only going to worsen.

Take Doctor's Orders
After experiencing an injury the first question a player always seems to ask is, "When can I play again?" The answer will vary so listen to your doctor's advice. Remember even if you can't return to the sport right away a doctor or physical therapist might have some ideas of how to rehab the injury and stay in shape. Most important of all, after an injury do not resume participation on your team until your doctor clears you.

Make Sure You have Adequate Coverage
Despite taking all the recommended precautions, when unexpected accidents happen you want to make sure you're prepared. That means in advance be sure you have supplemental insurance in place to cover out-of-pocket expenses associated with hospital and doctor bills. If you do you'll have both peace of mind and cash benefits to help you get back football ASAP.
