Fall & Halloween Kids Titles

You know what's really scary, but also exciting? The diverse array of all-new spooky children's books parents and kids from toddlers through teenagers will discover in Simon & Schuster's Fall 2020 youth collection. 

Among the season's 23 new titles literally covering the full age range of kids to enjoy are board books for toddlers; beautifully-illustrated picture books for preschoolers; fun titles for early book worms to read aloud; books to entertain seasoned middle grade readers of tweens; and several new dark and exciting Young Adult (YA) reads for the more independent teenage crowd.

Board Books for Toddlers

Starting off, for the youngest kids are some adorable seasonally-inspired board books including In a Spooky Haunted House ($12.99) by Joel Stern, an author my family happens to know personally since he was my son's first origami teacher. Two hearts literally beat as one in this beautiful and romantic movie drama which opens today nationwide where theaters are now open. Based on a true and uplifting story, 2 Hearts (2020, Freestyle Releasing/AMT Productions, PG-13) is a film about family, hope and kindness which spans multiple generations, one that many will appreciate in these uncertain times we are all living through.

The Cast and Storyline 

Headlining the cast is heart throb Jacob Elordi, who romantic comedy movie buffs will remember from the movie The Kissing Booth. Elordi, an Aussie, delivers his lines so convincingly with the accent of the All-American college student Chris he portrays. Tiera Skovbye (The Miracle Season), a 25 year-old Canadian actress, plays Chris' love interest with strength and compassion. Among the others in major roles in this film are Mexican-American actor Adan Canto (X-Men: Days of Future Past) and Radha Mitchell (Dreamcatcher), an Australian actress who also shows off a well-practiced American accent.

As the film begins, the audience is introduced to the these seemingly unrelated key players. Over the course of the picture, through twists and turns, each character's connection to each other and to the plot is revealed. It's a movie which will remind audiences that even when the chips are down, there is still an abundance of love, selflessness, and generosity in the world to share with others across generations and cultures.
