What a privilege it is to again be asked to help spread the word about such a worthwhile community outreach project: The Company Store 4th Annual National Family Pajama Night (NFPN). This is my second year working with retailer The Company Store, having posted about National Family Pajama Night 2013 just about a year ago.

NFPN 2014 takes place on November 22nd. As in year's past, on that special night families with an ill child staying at the Ronald McDonald House of New York -- a home-away-from-home during treatment -- will receive fanciful matching nightwear from The Company Store Family Pajamas Collection. In addition, the brand is donating 3,000 pairs of TCS pajamas to families staying at Ronald McDonald House Charities across the U.S. But, that's not all, for every pair of pajamas purchased by the public here through December 22, 2014, the brand will be donating $1 to the national non-profit.

“This is one of my favorite activities at the House,” says William T. Sullivan, President & CEO of Ronald McDonald House New York. “The families gathering together in their beautiful PJs from The Company Store create a warm, comfortable home atmosphere where they can find respite from the trials and tribulations of their day battling pediatric cancer.”

“The feeling of comfort and warmth is something that everyone should experience during the holiday season,” explains Karen Feldman, Director of Marketing, The Company Store. “This is what National Family Pajama Night is all about. The Company Store is committed to doing what we can to help create a feeling of warmth, fun and comfort for these families who are dealing with illnesses while they are away from home. We believe a comfy pair of PJs can be the first step.”

3. Cut a 4" piece of ribbon and fold in half, then place it inside the top and hand sew the hanging loop created into the mitten.
4. Cut a contrasting color cuff the width of your mitten and add glue and glitter. Then, decorate your mitten on the front with glue and glitter to create a paw print, the word "bark" or anything else you'd like. When adhesive is dry add the cuff with more glue.
5. Fill with your pup's favorite treats and hang on the tree or your fireplace being sure to place it high enough so he/she can't jump up and grab it before you are ready to present your gift for them to enjoy.

Parent's Note: Depending on your child's age and abilities they may be able to help you craft this project or even make it all by themselves.
